We have found that once someone eats at Lambert's Cafe, they come back again and tell their friends about us. We have talked to people in neighboring states who have been to Lambert's, as well as people in Las Vegas, NV, Michigan, Maryland, Jamaica, Germany, Australia, and Russia!

On Saturday, July 5, 2014, I took my friend, Dink, on a dinner date to Lambert's Café where she introduced me as, “my friend from Australia”. That was my second visit. I recalled my first visit with friends for lunch, five years previously, on June 22, 2009. I wasn't warned, and was "caught good and proper" by a very hot, "throwed bun" that I grabbed and immediately dropped. -- On this occasion, we had an abundance of [ROAST BEEF Old fashioned pot roast piled up with mashed potatoes and 2 sides of your choice along with Norm's pass arounds! 12.99] -- to which I added “Mrs. Patti’s PERFECT SIDES” of green beans and baby carrots for a delicious meal. Along with coffee, it was very filling. This time, I didn't drop the hot bun that I also enjoyed, buttered and plastered with molasses. Coming from Mackay, Queensland, the sugar-growing capital of Australia, I was surprised by the molasses that had sugar cane on the can. It tasted Ok but was more like very pale, thickened sugar-cane syrup. We have two kinds of molasses; both are thick, black liquids. Molasses from a raw sugar mill/factory has a slightly bitter taste while that produced in a local sugar refinery is sweet and delectable... "finger licking good". -- Your motto was appropriate as we enjoyed every minute of our dining experience: "We hope you come hungry, leave full, and hopefully have a laugh or two!" The final laugh was on me as we were leaving and my friend suggested I buy some, “Old Fashioned PEPPERMINT CANDY”...whereupon I opened the lid to check out the candy and a mouse popped out! When I had finished cursing her and my heart resumed beating, I signed the visitors’ book as I was asked when introduced to the duty manager! Staff was pleasant, and it was an enjoyable dining experience that I look forward to repeating during my next visit to Sikeston.
